This hotel has a lovely location in the heart of the city, on a small side street off the Overtoom. It is adjacent to the Vondel park and has many bars, restaurants and shops on its doorstep. It is also within walking distance of the Leidseplein, with its bars and restaurants and famous Holland Casino, the upmarket shopping street of the PC Hoofsstraat, and the Van Gogh and Rijks Museum. The bedrooms are all very different and unique and offer some of the best accommodation of any 3 star hotel in Amsterdam. They are all influenced by various philosophers, hence the hotels name. An example of some rooms is the one decorated with antiques, chandeliers and quotes painted on the walls, or the Asian style Confusius room decorated in purple and silver. All rooms are in very good condition and are very tastefully decorated with much attention to detail. Superior rooms are larger than the standard rooms
